Cotton has better hygroscopicity, higher moisture retention, good heat resistance, stronger alkali resistance and hygienicity, which are the reasons why you are willing to buy cotton bedding. In real life, we often encounter the shrinking problem of pure cotton quilt cover. Let us look at the shrinking problem of pure cotton fabric today. The quilt of pure cotton is composed of plant fibers. When the fabric is infiltrated, water molecules will enter the inside of the cotton fiber, causing the fiber to expand. When the weft direction (or warp direction) of the fabric expands and becomes thick, the fabric will shrink. The longer the time in the water, the shrinkage is relatively larger. Of course, this is only relatively speaking, and will not shrink endlessly. So how do we avoid shrinking fabrics?

First of all, when making bedding, some sizes are reserved according to the shrinkage of the fabric. In addition, we should pay attention to the following points when washing:

1. If the bedding has not been cleaned, please pay attention to the soaking time not too long to avoid excessive moisture absorption of the fabric;

2. Do not use washing powder and washing liquid in excess, and add some softener as appropriate.

3. First soak in light saline for 20 minutes, then wash with clean water.

4. The water temperature should be controlled below 35 degrees, and the hot water should not be used.

5. Do not expose to sunlight or dry after washing to avoid rapid evaporation of water and shrinkage.

6. It is best to dry in a cool place.

7. If it has shrunk, it can be restored with a steam iron or washed again in the correct way.
