The Production Process of duck and goose Down
The breeding environment
Our duck farm and goose farm are located in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. The duck factory located in areas with good air circulation and sufficient water sources, and provides suitable feed such as grains, beans, and proteins, which are nutritious and easy to digest and absorb. The provided drinking water containers should be regularly cleaned to prevent infection with bacteria.
The temperature in the factory is controlled between 15 ℃ and 25 ℃, which is the most suitable temperature for duck growth. In daily breeding, always keep the site clean, pay attention to drinking water hygiene, and regularly receive preventive vaccines.
Extracting duck and goose feathers
Ducks are subjected to treatments such as shedding hair and decontamination after slaughtering. The slaughtering process requires skilled and experienced operators to ensure the quality of duck down.
Then it enters the down extraction stage. First, the ducks are immersed in hot water to relax and soften their skins. Then, the down on the duck is sorted out using specialized machines or manual methods to form a pile of down. we have down and feathers that don't come from live plucking ducks and geese. We adapt our raw materials to the needs of our customers.
Cleaning
Detergents are added to the cleaning equipment, and the dirt can be basically removed after several initial rinses.
Dewatering
The cleaned duck feathers are transported to the dewatering machine and dewatered.
Drying
A high degree of precision in drying and temperature is required, and poor temperature control can reduce the quality of the fleece.
Sterilization
The dried raw materials are sterilized at high temperatures to kill viruses and bacteria that may be present.
Separation
Utilizing airflow separation, light down is at the upper level and heavy feathers are at the lower level, and different grades of down can be separated after several separations.
Manual Selection
Trained workers will remove any foreign matter that can't be removed and sort them into more detailed grades according to length, elasticity, and color.
Quality control
Strict quality checks are carried out on down, including fullness and warmth.
